Commemorating 25 years

The design of a hard backed book to commemorate 25 years of Watson, Farley & Williams. Charting the progress of the firm from its first days to today with commentary and images from their archives. Presented to clients, partners and staff at a party held specially for the occasion. The book design was finished with silver foil type on the cover and printed on GF Smith stock.

The book design was based on the idea of a scrap book. Coloured shapes were placed on top of each other to create the effect of layers on the page. A half tone screen effect was applied to the imagery used on the chapter dividers to make the shots look older than they were.

An example of a page design in the book. Text is laid out in a two column grid with the image placed across the grid, with a yellow block for the caption, again all enhancing the effect of the scrap book.
